Rome’s First Ecumenical Saint, John Henry Newman
Rome has honored John Henry Newman by placing him on the path to Catholic sainthood. He was infamous for betraying the English people by infiltrating the Church of England with secret Papal doctrines and practices that betrayed its historic roots in the Reformation. Fearing exposure of his betraying work, Newman fled the Church of England and converted to Roman Catholicism. He became a Cardinal in the Catholic Church before his death in 1890.
