We want you to share the things that matter to you most. It is important to us that you feel comfortable and trust us with your information when you visit the Berean Beacon website (“the Site”). Please take a few minutes to read this Privacy Policy, so that you understand what information we collect, what we do with it and why.
In general, we only collect information that allows us to provide you with our best Services. We do this only when you sign up either to subscribe to our updates under “Newsletter” or if you write us directly under “Contact”. We keep your name and Email address in our database.
Importantly, we do not market or share your data with third parties. Our goal is to minister to you through free access to the information we provide on the site. We do not intend to make money through your personal information.
Our new website is hosted on Go-Daddy and is under the https: proxy. This means that all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. Encryption makes it difficult if not impossible for a third party to see your information when you visit the website.

It is important you understand that by using the Site and signing up either via “Newsletter” or “Contact”, you allow us to collect, use, disclose, and retain your personal information and other information. However, we will not market your information to third parties.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum information required to achieve the purposes set out in this Policy (see below), and you have the ability to limit such collection, as specified below under “Your Choices”:
- Name, addresses, and voluntary information: When you use our various Services you voluntarily give us personal information (e.g., name, email, and, if you give it, mailing address and phone number) and you are not anonymous to us.
- Social Media Information: If you befriend Berean Beacon through third-party social media sites like Facebook, Twitter or VK, you agree to give us ongoing access to your personal information on such sites (e.g., your public profile). We may receive certain information about you which is stored on social media sites if users of those sites give us access to their profiles and you are one of their friends or connections, depending upon your settings on those sites.
Uses and Retention
Our mission is to constantly improve our Services and provide you with new experiences. As part of this mission, we use your information for the following purposes:
- Give you updates of new information on the Site: We use your Information to (i) register you for regular updates; (ii) respond to your requests; and (iii) for those who have opted-in, mailings of hard copies of our updates, such as but not limited to the newsletter.
Data Retention: Unless otherwise specified, we retain information as long as it is necessary and relevant for us to achieve the purposes referred to above or to enable us to comply with our legal data protection retention obligations. Upon deactivation of your account, we will minimize the personal data we keep about you only to such data which we are required to keep to comply with laws, or other legal reasons. We may keep activity data on a non-identifiable basis to improve our services.

Legal and Law Enforcement: We may disclose your information to law enforcement, governmental agencies, or authorized third-parties, in response to a verified request relating to terror acts, criminal investigations or alleged illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or others to legal liability.

Third-Party websites and Apps:
Our app may contain links to other third-party websites or you may access Apps from a third- party site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these third-party sites. You may read about the privacy policies at Mailchimp and/or Little Green Light.
Mailchimp is a service we use for coordinating our Email campaigns. They also help us to improve our communication with readers by giving us data about clicks (how many people open which Emails or click certain links). We do not market this data to third parties.
Little Green Light is a database provider that helps us store reader data. We use it for hard copy mailings of the newsletter and other items. It also helps us to provide charitable receipts for those who donate to the Berean Beacon Ministry. It does not store, process, nor accept sensitive payment data (credit cards, check routing numbers, etc.).
Security
We know that security is important to our users and we care about the security of your information. We maintain technical, physical, and administrative security measures to protect the security of your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. Some of the safeguards we use include firewalls, data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers and information access authorization controls.
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. Therefore we do not knowingly collect personal information via our websites, applications, services, or tools from anyone under 13. In the EEA, certain default privacy settings will be applied to users under the age of 16 and can only be changed if the legal guardian instructs so in writing.
International Transfer
We operate internationally. That means that your personal information may need to be processed in countries where data protection and privacy regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in your home country.
