Let not the title nor the authorship deceive you; this document has significant weight. Cardinal Fernandez, is the ghost writer and right-hand man of Pope Francis. Indeed, the document was written in the private audience of Pope Francis. This declaration is the first of its type in over two decades. The majority of the citations in the Declaration come from Francis himself. We are not “wounded” or “victims” of sin, we are truly guilty when we break God’s law. When we desecrate God’s institution of marriage and violate the sanctity of one man and one woman for life, we sow the wind and reap the whirlwind!
